Each year, as we prepare for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, we hear echoes - echoes of past years, echoes of old traditions and patterns, of aspirations and dreams, echoes of loved ones who are no longer with us physically. In this special class, we will open our hearts to the month of Elul - a month of spiritual work to ready ourselves to step into the year 5784 with presence, honesty, and attunement of heart and soul. In this 4-part class, we will use some of the traditional words that animate the high holidays - language taken from the High Holiday prayerbook, language from some of the prayers we say on these holy days - and use the words as portals to personal meaning and growth. The class will interweave text study with personal reflection and shared conversation and will include various reflective and contemplative practices. Open to all.
