Menuchat haNefesh: Outer Calm, Inner Balance

The trait of Equanimity, usually expressed in Hebrew as menuchat haNefesh, or tranquility of soul, is seen in Jewish tradition as an indispensable component of spiritual growth -- but in challenging times, this kind of inner poise can be hard to conceive of, let alone maintain. In this course, we'll learn from texts and practice techniques that enable us to not drown in the stormy seas of emotion. We'll work to understand Equanimity as a continuum along which we can make encouraging progress. We will study, meditate, journal, and assist each other in cultivating inner and outer calm, even in the midst of rough waters.
