Strands that Bind: The Wisdom to be Found in the Relationships of Genesis

Using the weekly arc of the Torah readings from the book of Bereshit (Genesis), we will explore the bonds of relationships that comprise our lives. The stories of Genesis offer a window into the complexities of the connections we share with others: the joys and the conflicts, the gifts and the challenges. Each week, we will use the weekly Torah portion as a gateway to examine these ancestral relationships and what they can reveal and teach us about our own - and how we might learn to bring greater wisdom and open-heartedness to the connections in our lives. The class will explore texts from Torah, midrash, ancient and modern commentaries, as well as contemporary teachings and sources. Open to all.

8 weeks - Thursday mornings - Oct. 12, Oct. 19, Nov. 2, 9, 16, 30, Dec. 7 - 10:00 - 11:30 am CT

Taught by Rebecca Minkus-Lieberman

Cost: $250
