Who am I? Where do I belong? Where do I place my faith? What is the new texture of my Jewish identity and practice? Over the past few difficult months, new questions have emerged, asking for our attention. The practice of prayer helps us shift our attention to what is stirring in our hearts. The deep need to pray - to access the inner voice of our hearts and souls - is more powerful and more urgent than ever, and yet the circumstances of our world require a new level of attention to these yearnings and questions. How can we find ways to allow the ancient words of our liturgy to be our road map, to guide us and heal us as we pick our way forward?

Using the new book by Rabbi Arthur Green, “Well of Living Insight”, we will open up the contemplative spiritual practice of prayer in a non-traditional way, using Rabbi Green’s personal reflections and commentary on the words of our prayers. Throughout these sessions, we will build a personal library of prayer kavannah (intention) cards that will support us in the coming days and weeks, as we build new portals to a nourishing daily practice. Whether we are comfortable with prayer or have never found it accessible or meaningful - all are welcome to come study and explore. Open to all

*Registrants will need to purchase Green’s book before the start of the class: Buy it here
