Though we often refer to the third book of the Torah as Leviticus, in Hebrew it is known as Vayikra “Then God called” because it begins at the moment when Moses is summoned into the Tent of Meeting to listen to God’s direction from this newly built space.

We will explore this book with the teaching of Dr. Avivah Zornberg in her new book “The Hidden Order of Intimacy: Reflections on the Book of Leviticus” where she posits that the entire book is written in the shadow and aftermath of the Golden Calf Incident.

How do we recover after a trauma of separation and disconnection? How can we rebuild our capacity to listen and find a spiritual path once again?
