From Hiddenness to Wholeness: a study of Megillat Esther

In preparation for Purim, we will spend four weeks exploring Megillat Esther (the scroll of Esther) which is traditionally read on the holiday.

We will examine the characters of Esther and Vashti, Mordechai and Haman as archetypes for different spiritual modes of being in the world, and we will trace the development of these individuals as they evolve throughout the narrative.

Along the way, we will open up the themes of hiddenness and wholeness, fracture and joy, emptiness and fullness. We will study the text alongside commentaries and other readings, both Jewish and secular, the bring the themes of the text into our own spiritual lives. Open to all.

Thursday mornings: 10:00 - 11:30 am- Feb. 10, 17, March 3, and 10 on Zoom
