This 2-class series will explore the spiritual and mystical aspects of the shemitah year - a year of agricultural rest, at its origin - which arrives every 7 years and is upon us this new year. What is shemitah? What new possibilities does it invite and lead us towards if we understand its teachings as a collective spiritual vision? We will use Rav Kook's introduction to Shabbat Ha'Aretz as our text as we examine the powerful paradigm that shemitah offers us as individuals and as a collective.
