How can we use core Jewish values to orient us around a life of goodness and betterment, of ourselves and the world we live in? In this class we will explore some lesser known Jewish values, examine their origins and the ways in which we can integrate them into our daily lives, turning to them as lodestars along the journey of a life. We will explore the following values:
Sameach be’chelko: finding happiness in what is
Rodef Shalom: pursuing peace in all areas of your life
Keter Shem Tov: cultivating a legacy of goodness
Ve’ahavta le’reacha kamocha: loving an other as you love yourself
Shevirah: acknowledging and holding what is broken and imperfect
Elu V’Elu: embracing a multiplicity of truths
Lech Lecha: Taking steps forward on your journey
Tzedek tzedek tirdof: chasing after justice
Each class session will include Jewish text study, secular sources of wisdom, personal reflection and group discussion. All are welcome. Rebecca Minkus-Lieberman
