Marking the Jewish New Moon

A Year to Replenish. 5782 is a year of Shmita. As Exodus 23:10-11 teaches: "For six years you should sow your land and gather in its produce but in the seventh you are to let if go ( tishmetenah) and let it be (Unitashta) that the needy of your people shall eat and what remaines, the wildlife of the field shall eat."

Month by month we will be looking at many forms of replenishing: letting things go, letting things be, noticing what remains, nurturing what is left, being gentle with our bodies, our lives, our words and our actions. In each session we will explore poems and music and Jewish sources that will help us experience fallowness as a spiritual practice.
